Aria, your AI assistant
Aria answers questions about your customers, orders and garments, and does the routine work for you when you ask: starting orders, changing garments, filling in measurements. This page covers where to find her, what to ask, and what she will and will not do.
What Aria does
Aria is an assistant built into MTMPRO. You ask in plain words, typed or spoken, and she looks up the answer in your own store: who the customer is, what is on the order, where a garment is, what is due this week. When you ask her to do something, she does it with the same steps you would take on screen, as you, and then opens the page so you can see the result.
She saves you the clicks between screens. Instead of opening a customer, finding the order, opening the garment and changing a date, you say set the customer need-by date on the Carter suit to October 20 and it is done. She also answers how-to questions about MTMPRO from the guides, with a link to the article she used.
When you would use it
On the phone with a customer
James Carter calls to ask when his suit will be ready. Ask when is James Carter's suit due? and Aria finds his open order, the garment's status and its need-by date while you stay on the call.
At a fitting, hands full
With a tape in one hand and pins in the other, say the measurements out loud. In voice mode Aria walks through the measurement form with you, field by field, and puts each value in as you say it, in figures or in words. A soft ding says it went in, and three seconds later she moves on to the next field. See voice commands for orders.
Placing a reorder
A returning customer wants the same navy suit again. Ask Aria to reorder it and she copies the garment's design onto a new order, leaving the fabric for you to choose.
Planning the week
Ask what is due this week? or what shipped from the manufacturer last week? to see the garments that need attention, soonest first. Owners and admins can also ask about sales, top garments and how work is flowing through the shop.
Where to find it
Aria sits in the lower right corner of every screen in your store, whenever she is turned on for it and not disabled for you. The button has two halves.
Opens Aria's panel to type to her. It floats over the page and stays open while you move around the app, so the conversation follows you from screen to screen.
Opens Aria straight into voice mode, listening. Hover it and it reads Voice mode. See voice mode below.
Other windows cover the button while they are open, but the measurements and style dialogs do not: Aria stays within reach over them, because she can fill them in for you.
Ask a question
- Open AriaClick Aria in the corner. A new conversation shows Ask about your customers, orders, fabrics, or how to do something in MTMPRO.
- Type your questionWrite it in the box marked Ask Aria… and press Enter. Ask the way you would ask a colleague: what is on James Carter's last order?
- Read the answerAria replies in the chat. Orders, garments and customers she mentions come as cards under her reply, and order numbers are links. Click one to open it.
- Carry onFollow up without repeating yourself. Is it paid? after an order means that order. On an order or customer's page, this order andthis customer mean the one on screen.
Aria answers in the chat and puts the order she found underneath as a card.
What you can ask about
- Customers: who they are, their orders, their measurements on file.
- Orders and garments: what is on an order, a garment's status, dates, fabric and style.
- Dates: customer and retailer need-by dates, shipping dates and alterations due, the same dates the calendar shows.
- Status changes: what was received at the store or shipped in a given week.
- Fabric purchase orders: whether a garment's fabric has been ordered and sent.
- Alterations: a customer's alterations, and alteration totals.
- Sales and rankings: top garments, best customers, sales by month, rep or manufacturer. See who can use it for who sees which figures.
- How to do something in MTMPRO, answered from the guides.
Let Aria do it
Ask for a change and Aria makes it straight away, the way the order page or the dialog would, then tells you what she did and opens the page. She does not ask you to confirm each change, so say exactly what you want.
- Start an order or add garmentsNew garments by type, with the manufacturer and style templates you name, or a reorder of a garment from a past order. If several manufacturers make the garment, she asks which. Ask for a new order without naming garments and she creates it empty and opens it, ready for what you add next.
- Change garments on an orderQuantity, price and status, and the settings on the order page's Update All: rush, retailer and customer need-by dates, ship to customer and remake. For one garment or the whole order.
- Change the fabricThe fabric number, supplier and description of a garment's fabric.
- Apply style templates and try-on sizesTo a garment already on an order. A try-on size goes on the part of the garment that has try-on sizes; if more than one part has them, she asks which.
- Open measurements or styleThe measurements or style options for a garment or a customer, as the buttons on screen open them.
- Take notesOn an order's Order Notes, or the customer's Style Preferences or Wish List.
- Add a customerWith their first and last name. If a customer with a similar name is already in the store, she shows you who before adding anyone.
When Aria asks you
When she needs a choice from you, which manufacturer or which garment, the question opens in a box above the text box with the choices listed.
- Pick a choiceClick it, or press its number on the keyboard. The arrow keys move between choices.
- Send itClick Submit or press Enter. A double click picks and sends in one go.
- Or answer in your own wordsType in the box below instead. Skip closes the question without answering it.
Some questions take more than one answer, such as which style templates to apply. Those show tick boxes and read Tick as many as apply, or type your own answer below.
Inside measurements and style
Open Aria while the measurements or style dialog is open and she works on that dialog. A notice at the top of her panel says so, and the text box reads Tell Aria what to change….
Tell her what to set (chest 42 and a half, notch lapel) or which field to go to, and she changes it as if you had typed it. A field you change this way saves the same way a typed one does. Photos and dates stay with you: she can take you to them, and you fill them in.
When the measurements dialog opens with nothing measured yet, Aria offers to go through it with you: To run through the measurements together, say 'begin', or just read the name of the measurement you want to edit. Every command for that is in voice commands for orders.
Voice mode
In voice mode you talk to Aria and she answers out loud. The chat steps aside for a wave that moves with whoever is talking, with what Aria is doing written under it.
- Start itClick the waveform on the corner button, or the waveform beside the text box (Voice mode: Aria talks and listens). The first time, your browser asks to use the microphone.
- TalkSay what you want and pause. Aria sends it when you stop, reads her answer aloud, then listens again. Spoken answers are a sentence or two; ask for the detail when you want it. When she did not catch what you said, she says Sorry, I didn't catch that. rather than guess.
- Interrupt any timeWhile Aria is answering, the status reads Talk to interrupt. Start speaking and the answer pauses so Aria can listen.
- FinishClick Exit voice mode. The whole conversation is in the chat, including what was said out loud.
The microphone beside the text box is different: it writes what you say into the box for you to read and send, and Aria answers in writing.
What each part means
New conversation, at the top of the panel. Clears the chat and starts over. Aria forgets what was said before, so start a new conversation when you move on to a different customer.
Expand. Makes the panel larger in the middle of the screen and dims the page behind it. Shrink to the corner, or a click on the dimmed page, puts it back.
Under an answer to a how-to question: the guide Aria used. Click it to read the whole article.
Aria is writing what you say into an order's notes until you say done. The measurements and style versions mean she is working on that dialog.
Shows once a tenth or less of the month's credits are left. Store owners see Buy credits beside it, which opens Billing.

Who sees what
Owners, admins and associates can all use Aria once it is turned on for the store, unless the owner has disabled her for an associate (below). She works as the person signed in, with the same permissions they have everywhere else in the app. She only ever sees your own store, and she never shows or changes anything that person could not open themselves.
Owners and admins
Every customer, order and garment in the store, and every figure: the store's revenue and sales, by any rep, customer, month, garment type or manufacturer, and the store-wide figures below. Administrator accounts always have full access to customers.
Associates
Which customers an associate sees is set by an owner or admin, in Users & Permissions, opens in MTMPRO. Each associate has one of two settings:
- Full access to all customers: every customer in the store.
- Restricted access to assigned customers and new customers added by this user: only the customers that list them under Assigned Users on the customer's profile, and the customers they added themselves.
Aria follows that setting in everything she does for them.
Turning Aria off for an associate
Every associate has Aria unless the owner disables her for them. In Users & Permissions, opens in MTMPRO, click Manage next to the associate, tick Disable Aria under Aria, and click Update User. Untick it the same way to give Aria back.
The Aria button is gone for them from the next time they open MTMPRO. If they already have Aria open, she answers this instead, without using credits: Aria is turned off for your account. Your store owner can turn it on in Users and Permissions.
Disabling Aria is the only Aria setting for an associate. While she is on, what she shows them is set by their other permissions, as the note under the box says: Aria only sees what this user can already see in MTMPRO: the customers their Customer Access allows, and only the sales they wrote themselves. Owners and admins always have Aria; for them the panel reads Administrator accounts can use Aria.
- Customers, orders and garmentsOnly the customers they can see, with those customers' orders, garments, measurements, notes and alterations. Ask about anyone else and Aria says she could not find them.
- Counts and listsGarments in a status, what is due this week or overdue, what was received or shipped, fabric purchase orders and how work is flowing: all counted over the customers they can see, as their own Garments screen shows.
- Revenue and salesOnly orders they wrote themselves, even with full access to all customers. Their own totals, best months and top garments, yes. The store's revenue, other reps' sales and the team's rankings, no. Asked about another rep, Aria says associates can only see their own sales, and never confirms whether that person works at the store.
- Store-wide figuresWhich fabrics and suppliers sell most, how much fabric was ordered from each supplier, and which style options sell are for owners and admins only. Aria declines them for associates.
- ManufacturersBy your store's own names for them, the way associates see them in the rest of the app.
- ChangesAria only starts orders, changes garments or takes notes for customers they can see. Asked to add a customer whose name belongs to someone assigned to a colleague, she says that customer is assigned to someone else on the team, without opening them.
Credits
Everyone's questions use the store's credits. Only the store owner sees Buy credits and can buy more.
Good to know
- Check what she didAria can misunderstand, especially names heard by voice. When a name sounds like a manufacturer, supplier or garment she can see (“door may” for Dormeuil), she takes that one; a status only when it is clearly one of yours, otherwise she asks. By voice, a customer she cannot find is the one customer the name sounds like, or a choice when several do. She says what she did after every change and opens the page, so take a look before the order goes out.
- She does not change settingsStore settings, order forms, statuses and your account are not hers to change. Ask her how to change them and she points you to the guide.
- She uses creditsEach question uses at least one credit, and spoken answers use credits for what is read aloud. Your plan includes credits every month. When they run out, Aria pauses until the next month, or until an owner buys more on Billing.
- Answers have 30 secondsIf an answer has not come in 30 seconds, Aria stops waiting and shows Something went wrong. Please try again. Anything she was asked to do is not done twice when you retry.
- Voice needs Chrome, Edge or SafariFirefox cannot listen, so the voice buttons do not show there. Voice mode turns itself off after five minutes with nothing said.
